It all started with my cousins second birthday party. In attendance were 2 of my closest friends, wine and cupcake. I said nope, not gonna do it, and sipped my water.
(my niece and Monty)
That same night was a bowling birthday party at Main Event for a friend. I didn't make it back in town early enough to eat dinner before the party, so I knew I was in trouble. However, I was determined not to cheat. I was surrounded by alcohol, hamburgers, pizza and CAKE. I may have sucked at bowling, but I came out like a CHAMP.
My last hoorah was a small get together to watch the Cowboys game with some friends. I suggested fajitas, no cheese, sour cream or tortillas, just meat, onions, bell peppers and guacamole. I thought if I take control of the food, there would be no temptation. Until I came across the cookie brownies. Seriously! Two delicious treats in ONE. I couldn't pass that up......but I did.
I couldn't have made it through the weekend without the help of Melisa Ann. She talked me out of some pretty close calls!
Peace Out,
J-Mama
Dang, if I'd have been in your position, I would've caved in at the birthday party. I mean, c'mon, CUPCAKES. I have zero willpower in the presence of such a pretty and innocent-looking lil treat. lol
ReplyDeleteI'm trying hard to make healthier food choices one meal at a time, so I feel your pain. Keep up the good fight!
I agree. Now that's what I call will power! Congrats, from what I understand the first two weeks are the hardest. It's all down hill from here.
