Music Monday

Today I had to pick a song that fits the weather. I have two favorite rainy day artist: Dashboard Confessional and Joshua Radin. I chose "Get Me Right" by Dashboard. The song is off their new album and is my new favorite Dashboard Confessional song. I'm posting the lyrics with this one as well because they are what makes the song so GREAT!

I made my slow way home
Limping on broken bones
Out of the thickest pine
Across the county lines
On to your wooden stairs
I know you can repair
I know you've seen the light
I know you'll get me right

Right
Right
Right

I own a sinners heart
I know the rain falls hard
I know the currency
I know the things you'll need
I hope he hears my prayers
I see you cut your hair
I know the saving type
I know you'll get me right

Right
Right
Right

But, Jesus I've fallen
I don't mind the rain if
I meet my maker
I'll meet my maker clean

But, Jesus the truth is
I've struggled so hard to believe
I'll meet my maker
I'll need my maker

To cure me of my doubting blood
And drain me of the sins I love
And take from me my disbelief
I know it should come easily
But it remains inside of me
It battles and devours me
It cuddles up the side of me
And whispers it convinces me I'm

Right
Right
Right
Right
Right
Right
Right
Right
Right
Right
Right

OH Chu Chu

I love Chuy's blogs. Here was a recent laugh out loud post. It's really only funny if you watch Chelsea Lately, which YOU should...weeknights at 10pm (central) on E!

In the Dog House

Dog the Bounty Hunter, Duane Chapman, Beth ChapmanScott Gries/A&E

I heard somewhere that Duane"Dog the Bounty Hunter" Chapman is having trouble with his wife and that she might be kicking him out of their home. I wish that Ms Chelseas dog Chunk would get kicked out of her house so I can stop sharing a bunk bed with him. It's annoying.

Peace Out,

J-Dawg

This is why I love me some Chelsea

Labor Pain

Bristol Palin, Sarah PalinJudy Patrick/AlaskaStock.com/ZumaPress.com

Bristol Palin recently appeared onOprah, via satellite from Alaska. The good news is that she's in Alaska. The bad news is that she's still talking about her baby.

Bristol told Oprah that she has made a pact not to have sex again until she's married. I didn't understand who she made the pact with. It seems it was with herself, in which case it's not really a pact, it's just a bad idea. See: definition of pact.

Sarah Palin also popped up on the satellite and said she should have talked "more openly" to her daughter about sex, and that her family has now "learned such lessons."

This baby doesn't have a shot. Isn't it enough that his grandma is Sarah Palin, or that his dad posed forPlaygirl and hangs out with Kathy Griffin, or that his name is Tripp?

Going on TV repeatedly to talk about how your kid was a mistake is probably not great for the child's self esteem. A better name for this kid would be "20 to life."

Music Monday

I hope y'all are ready for this! This week's choice for Music Monday was not chosen by song, but by Artist/Musical Genius'/Best Rappers of all time/Greatest DJ to ever walk the Earth......THE BEASTIE BOYS. They are easily in the top 3 of my favorite musicians and License to Ill might just be the best album of all time....my opinion of course, but should matter.

"sweet and sour like a tangerine, fresh like a box of Krispy Kreme..."

"What's the time? it's time to get ill. and what's the time? it's time to get ill. so what's the time? it's time to get ill, now what's the time? it's time to get ill...."

"I got more rhymes then Phyllis Diller"

Those are just a few of my favorite song quotes from the Beastie Boys. I could go ALL day with them. I couldn't pick just 1 song to feature, so here are a few for your listening/viewing pleasure.

This is one of my favorite songs and videos:

This is my favorite pump me up workout song:

Last but not least, This is my favorite cause it features the GREATEST DJ of all time:

I hope I have enlightened all of you. Now you can go out and make the world a better place!

Peace Out,

The warm-fuzzies

I love the innocence of animals. I saw this video on ellen this morning, and I had to share with you guys. This is the kind of stuff that gives me the warm-fuzzies. If I would not have been training a client when I saw this, my eyeballs probably would have gotten a little wet. I'm not a big crier, so that's a pretty big deal.

So, here is the back story to the video. A family rescued a baby deer when it's mother abandoned him/her. They nursed the deer back to health and set it free. Now, the deer comes back everyday just to play with the family dog. The video is 4 minutes long but you can watch about 45 seconds of it to get the drift.

How freakin' awesome is that. If only we could all get along like this, the world would be a better place!

Peace Out,

J-Diddy

No Envy No Fear

"everyday we try to find/we search our hearts and our minds/the place we used to call our home/can't be found when we're alone/so have no envy/no fear...."

That verse is from one of my favorite Joshua Radin songs, "No Envy No Fear." As I was listening to the song this morning, it got me thinking. We have all been envious of someone at some point in our lives. We are envious of this person because they have something we want. Whether it's a lifestyle, a job, a relationship, a great body, the list goes on and on. Many people turn that feeling into a negative response which is jealousy, but instead we could use the emotion of envy and turn it into a goal. Something you aspire to. Something to challenge you. Something to pursue. Something to achieve. If you go after what you want in life, then there is nothing left to fear or envy.

So get out there and make things happen for yourself because no one is going to do it for you, but you can't do it alone. We all need a support system that encourages us to achieve our goals and conquer the world. So have no envy, no fear.....

Peace Out,

Cupcakes, Brownies, Cake, OH MY

Well, I made it through my second weekend of paleo. Let me tell you, it was not an easy one. It seemed like I had every temptation thrown at me.

It all started with my cousins second birthday party. In attendance were 2 of my closest friends, wine and cupcake. I said nope, not gonna do it, and sipped my water.
(my niece and Monty)

That same night was a bowling birthday party at Main Event for a friend. I didn't make it back in town early enough to eat dinner before the party, so I knew I was in trouble. However, I was determined not to cheat. I was surrounded by alcohol, hamburgers, pizza and CAKE. I may have sucked at bowling, but I came out like a CHAMP.

My last hoorah was a small get together to watch the Cowboys game with some friends. I suggested fajitas, no cheese, sour cream or tortillas, just meat, onions, bell peppers and guacamole. I thought if I take control of the food, there would be no temptation. Until I came across the cookie brownies. Seriously! Two delicious treats in ONE. I couldn't pass that up......but I did.

I couldn't have made it through the weekend without the help of Melisa Ann. She talked me out of some pretty close calls!

Peace Out,

J-Mama
