A Tip of the Hat to YOU, Ms. Handler

As most of you may know, I am a HUGE fan of Chelsea Handler. I would like to end this year with a Chelsea blog. It's actually word for word her blog. I don't think I could have said it better myself, so here it goes.

New Year, Not New You

Whatever you are doing tonight, I hope you're proud of yourselves.

I hope you're drinking lots of Belvedere and trying to make out with strangers. Hopefully none of you are wearing those stupid top hats or blowing those annoying noisemaker things. Try to control yourselves.

I am at an undisclosed location, and am considering telling the people sitting next to me to stop making their New Year's resolutions. If you make resolutions, you're just setting yourself up to fail. I haven't seen one person do something they resolved to accomplish on New Year's, except get really drunk.

2010 is not going to be that much different than 2009. If you're in the middle of getting a tattoo that suggests otherwise, stop now. You look like an asshole.

I, for one, think it's best to just assume you won't accomplish anything next year. Then if you do manage to climb a waterfall or sign up for a pottery class, everybody will be incredibly surprised, including you.

I hope everyone has a Fantastic New Years Eve. Please be Safe. NO drinking and driving, as fun as that may seem at 2 am, it's NOT! I wish you all (all 5 of you) a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Peace Out,

2010 Must Have #2

If you are in the fitness biz or you just like to workout, then this product is definitely a must have for YOU...the Hyperwear SandBell.

"Hyper Wear's SandBell is a cross between a sandbag, a dumbbell, a barbell, a grip bag, a medicine ball, a slam ball, and a kettlebell. Made of tough stretchy neoprene, the SandBell is the most versatile and enjoyable functional weight training tool on the market. Sizes range from 2lb to 50lb. Even more amazing is that the SandBell utilizes a patent pending fill mechanism that allows the end user to fill or empty the SandBell with whatever fill material desired."

I was first introduced the SandBell at Catz Sports. It didn't take long for me to realize what an AMAZING piece of equipment this little bag of sand is. I not only use the SandBells for my own workouts, but with my clients as well. Here is a little video to demonstrate just a few of the thousands of exercises that you can do with the SandBell.

2010 Must Have # 1

So, for my next couple of blogs i've decided to do "must have" products for 2010. My first "must have" are Nike Free 5.0 V4.

In my opinion these are the greatest pair of shoes my feet have ever had the pleasure of walking/running in. They are about as close to walking barefoot in a tennis shoe as you can get. I guarantee you'll love least I hope you do. I have not bought another type of tennis shoe since my first pair of frees ( i own 6 now). They're wonderful, so go out and buy yourself a pair. They'll change your life. Well, maybe not your life but definitely your workout.

Peace out,

Let's Do This

Melisa is the reason I decided to start a blog. I never cared much for blogs, reading or writing, until Melisa started "For What It's Worth." I began following her blog then next thing I know, I'm following 11 blogs. It is now part of my morning computer ritual. I have a routine: check facebook, check crossfit central website, check bobby bones homepage (for my hollywood gossip) and check blogs.
I have been thinking about starting a blog for a few weeks now, but kept putting it off. One of my New Year's Resolutions is to stop procrastinating. So instead of waiting to start my blog in 2010, I've decided to get a jump start on my resolution and start it TODAY.
Here's what you can expect from "Live and Learn":

life lessons of yours truly

Monty Monster

- LIFT Fitness

- My 2 favorite activities: Crossfit Kettlebell and CATZ

And much much more. I hope you find it fun and entertaining. You never know. You may just learn something.

Peace out,
